Jim Redgate, although a relative new comer to guitar making is one of the most successful.
His beautifully crafted no-nonsense guitars are rapidly gaining great popularity especially in the United States of America.

Jim, like many good luthiers came to guitar making from a background of instrument repairs. He started building instruments in 1985 basing his early instruments on the quality guitars he serviced.

His guitars have Spruce or Cedar top braced with Carbon-fibre and balsa wood in a unique honeycomb pattern.

The South American rosewood back is brace-less and arched to facilitate greater volume and projection, his guitars also feature a unique rosette crafted from 4000 pieces of wood.

Jim Redgate is a very good guitarist and holds a degree in Music Performance from the Elder Conservatorium.

Some famous guitarists who have purchased Redgate guitars are: Hucky Eichelman, Earl Klug etc.
